Description

Kemper CPA Group LLP, a top 100 public accounting firm, is a multifaceted regional CPA firm with 26 offices in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, and California. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Learning and Development Specialist position.

The Learning and Development Specialist is a position with Kemper CPA Group LLP's Administrative Services Department in Evansville, Indiana. The  Learning & Development  Specialist provides  strategic and hands-on leadership and implementation of the L&D functions at Kemper CPA Group. The ideal candidate  is a flexible and positive  team player seeking  to actively contribute  to and support the growth of the firm and  the Kemper  team. This position is full-time with some overtime expected during peak seasons.

Job Responsibilities  

  • Possess responsibility for the live and virtual delivery of all firm-wide learning and development curriculum.
  • Develop annual calendar and catalog of the firm’s learning and development opportunities, including technical, soft skills, and applications training and CPE, and manage the entire process associated with the learning and development events.
  • Identify, negotiate with, procure and manage relationships with external course providers including industry-known experts and thought leaders.
  • Identify, coordinate, and manage relationships with Kemper team members selected to provide internal course instruction.
  • Serve as in-person or virtual training instructor for live and recorded events when appropriate.
  • Coordinate and manage the firm’s various leadership development programs.
  • Educate eligible team members on the CPA Review Program, assist with enrollment, and manage an internal CPA Exam Candidate cohort to assist individuals studying for the exam and encourage successful completion.
  • Develop individualized learning plans and training that supports a specific team member’s career path as needed or requested.
  • Pursue continuous improvement in the delivery of all learning and development programs while ensuring training content is always up to date and relevant.
  • Conduct surveys to request participant feedback after all learning and development events, and implement improvements based on the feedback.
  • Demonstrate ownership of the firm’s Learning Management System (LMS), LCvista, and provide user support.
  • Provide oversight of team member compliance with firm CPE requirements.
  • Develop and manage training resources available on the firm’s intranet.
  • Serve as a member of the firm’s Training Committee.
  • Function as a member of the firm’s Human Resources team and assist with HR projects as needed.
  • Assist others in the Administrative Services Department with various items and/or special projects.

Qualifications and Competencies  

  • Bachelor's degree in learning and development, human resources, accounting, or a related business field; or any combination of education, training, and professional services experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position is required.
  • Two to four years of experience in a  professional role with individual accountability is required.
  • Experience in public accounting or a professional service firm is preferred.
  • CPA, HR, or L&D specific designation is preferred.
  • High level  of interpersonal skills  to interact and build relationships.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities, meeting deadlines, and following through on action items and commitments.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to  operate most standard office equipment.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
